Pre-Tan Instructions
Prep Instructions:
- Shower, shave and exfoliate 8-24 hours prior to your appointment. Using a gel-based body wash is best. NO DOVE! Showering and shaving too close to your spray tan appointment can negatively alter the way your skin processes the solution.
- If you are getting a wax, massage, pedicure/nails, lash extensions etc. complete these services at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. This will ensure the oils and products used have had time to wash off of your skin. Do not use retinol or salicylic products the week leading up to your tan.
- Come to your appointment with your skin free of all products. This includes jewelry, lotions, deodorant, make-up, oils and perfumes.
- Sunburn policy: You will need to wait 4 weeks after a peeling burn to get a spray tan. Failure to do so, will result in a very uneven/splotchy tan.
Post-Tan Instructions
Post Spray Tan Instructions:
- Following your spray tan, avoid any water exposure. This includes sweating, swimming and showering before your designated rinse time. Your recommended shower time will be provided at your appointment.
- Avoid applying make-up, oils, lotions, deodorants and perfume until after your first shower.
- To avoid stained palms, avoid palm to skin contact while your tan is developing.
- When it is time for your first shower, do not use soap. Just a water rinse is recommended. If you see streaks after getting out of the shower, hop back in and use your hand to guide the leftover bronzer off. Pat dry with your towel. The more water exposure your skin has, the faster the spray tan will fade. Keep the water temperature lukewarm for that first shower.
